Craniosacral Osteopathy in Basel & Basel-Land
Integrative Medicine and Gentle Pain Relief
Who I am and how I work
I am the kind of specialist people leave with a smile. With open shoulders, a lighter body, and the feeling that life is actually enjoyable again. People rarely come to me “on time.” More often, they come when the pain has been there for a while, when they are tired of coping, when conventional medicine hasn’t provided clear answers or lasting relief. I am a complementary medicine therapist, cranial osteopath in Basel and Basel-Land, body-oriented therapist, Master of Physiotherapy and kinesitherapist with over 20 years of experience. I work with adults, children and babies, helping the body restore balance in a natural and safe way.
What is cranial osteopathy — and how does it work
Cranial osteopathy is not just about “bones” and definitely not about forceful techniques. It is a subtle, almost imperceptible work where precision and sensitivity matter more than strength. The body has its own rhythms: the breathing of tissues, the movement of fluids, the regulation of the nervous system. When a person experiences stress, trauma (physical or emotional), or overload, these rhythms can become disturbed. The body begins to compensate: tension appears in some areas, mobility decreases in others, and tissue nourishment may be affected. Over time, this can show up as pain, fatigue, anxiety, hormonal imbalances, or chronic conditions. During the session, I work very gently through touch. I “listen” to the body with my hands — where there is tension, where movement is restricted, where the system has lost balance. The most important part is that I do not force the body to change — I create the conditions in which it can return to balance on its own. This includes working with fascia (the connective tissue that links everything in the body), the nervous system, the craniosacral system (brain, spinal cord, fluids), and internal organs. As the system reorganizes, the body no longer needs to spend energy on compensation — and that energy becomes available to you again.
What you may feel during and after the session
For many people, this is a completely new experience. During the session, you may feel warmth, gentle pulsation, deep relaxation, slowing of thoughts, or a sense of inner stillness. Sometimes the body releases through breathing, emotions, or subtle movements. After the session, people often notice reduced or disappearing pain, a feeling of lightness, improved posture, better sleep, and a sense of calm and clarity. This is not magic — it is a natural response of the body when it is finally allowed to restore itself.
What I work with
As a cranial osteopath in Basel and Basel-Land and an integrative medicine practitioner, I support people with back, neck, and lower back pain, headaches and migraines, chronic stress and tension, nervous system dysregulation, spinal and joint issues, recovery after injuries, internal organ dysfunction, hormonal and reproductive concerns, ENT conditions, as well as postpartum recovery and diastasis. If you are looking for pain treatment in Basel without medication, or a gentle, holistic approach such as craniosacral therapy in Basel, this may be the missing piece.
How a session works
Each session is индивидуальная and tailored to you. We begin with a conversation — I listen not only to your symptoms, but also to your story, because the body is always connected to how you live and feel. Then we move to the treatment table, in a calm and safe environment. You simply lie down and allow your body to do its work. I do not “fix” you — I help your body remember how to be in balance.
Why it works
Osteopathy is based on more than 150 years of scientific and clinical knowledge. But the key is not only in theory. The body is always oriented toward health. It already has everything it needs to restore itself — sometimes it just needs the right support. That is what we create during the session.
My approach
I work within an integrative medicine approach, where a person is seen as a whole system: body, nervous system, emotions, and lifestyle. My goal is not only to relieve symptoms, but to find where the system has lost balance and help you return to a state of ресурс and vitality. I guide your attention toward health, because health is always bigger than any diagnosis.
Important
For large families and people in difficult life situations, I offer more accessible conditions.
